The bead is made of opaque red glass using mosaic technique. It is decorated with an ornament consisting of five rows of small eyes. Each eye is a fragment of multilayered glass in red, white, green, and yellow colors. The precision of execution and color combination testify to a high level of craftsmanship. A beautiful example of ancient Persian jewelry glasswork from the 8th–9th centuries AD. Excellent condition.
The ring band is twisted; its diameter decreases slightly from the center to the points where the bead pin is attached. The band is made of sterling silver (925) and is partially patinated.
The ring size is approximately 16.5. The size adjusts slightly when the bead is moved.
