This cylindrical bead with rounded edges is made using mosaic glass technique: complex asymmetrical yellow and red eyes on a blue background. Persia, 8th–9th centuries AD. The bead is in excellent condition.
The ring band is twisted, openwork, made of sterling silver and partially patinated. The bead is mounted on a swivel pin. The ends of the band are decorated with miniature shell motifs.
Ring size 16.5–17.0. The size adjusts when the bead is moved.
