Pendant with an Ancient Mediterranean Striped Bead

The setting is a complex composition of varying spherical forms inspired by the intricate fractal motifs found in ancient Etruscan jewelry. The bail is embellished with fine relief granulation, a classical technique that adds texture and historical character to the gold-plated surface.

The centerpiece is a spherical mosaic glass bead crafted from opaque colored glass, originating from the Mediterranean region between the 8th and 9th centuries AD. Its vibrant pattern features crisp longitudinal stripes in red, white, orange, and blue, showcasing the sophisticated glassworking traditions of the early Middle Ages.
Total length: 41 mm. The internal diameter of the bail is approximately 5 mm.
