Silver ring with a narrow band, slightly convex on its exterior. The silver features an oxidized, blackened finish. A round Parian porcelain cameo depicting the head of Zeus-Ammon (Greek: Άμμωνα Δία) is set on the bezel. The reverse of the bezel is decorated with a rosette motif.
Sterling silver, patina, Parian bisque porcelain.
Parian porcelain was developed around 1845 by the Staffordshire ceramics manufacturer Mintons and named after Paros, a Greek island famous for its white marble used in ancient sculpture. This translucent porcelain is celebrated for its marble-like texture, warm tone, and smooth, silky surface, which allows for capturing exquisite detail.
